TWENTY YEARS FROM NOW, WILL YOU BE DISAPPOINTED?

 Twenty years from now,
 you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn't do
than by the ones you did do.
 So throw off the bowlines.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
 Explore. Dream. Discover.

A QUOTE, A THOUGHT, SOME ART

I never considered myself a writer. I didn’t write much when I was growing up; just a few poems, the requisite literary pieces in school, and apparently a diary. I say ‘apparently’ because I have no recollection of writing in that diary; only burning it when I was getting ready to graduate high school. I’m sure if I were able to read it now, I would laugh at the “secrets” which were contained inside that I felt needed to be burnt. No, I was a prolific reader. I read the thoughts of others, not the other way around. I never chose to write my thoughts for others to read, that is, not until last year, March 27, 2017, the day my blog, ArtEveryDayStudio, became official. Its mission was to showcase my art – the “star” of the blog. The plan was simple, write a post that contained a quote, a thought, and my art. Simple. Showcase my art.

 58 POSTS

So here we are, 58 blog posts later, and what do you think gets the most comments? Yup, you guessed it, the writing. Go figure! I finally realized the blog’s concept – a quote, a thought, and my art – were not single individual items, but parts of the whole package. Together, they were the vehicles for the real mission. So what’s ArtEveryDayStudio’s mission now? Well I think the blog’s mission is to inspire people to dream their dreams, and then go out and carpe that diem with confidence, knowing that even if your path seems to lead one way, it’s ok to take another path further into your journey. Dream your dreams, people. Start small if you have to, but do it. Take Mark’s advice from the quote above. Don’t wait twenty years from now and think, “Damn, I should of ______________” (Fill in the blank).

Here’s my Top 10 List from my 58 posts. Are any of these your favorites too?

THE ART

Is the little girl just small or is she symbolic of a long and wonderful journey that’s just beginning? What do you think?

Take this quote’s advice – don’t limit yourself. You can do it!!

Personally, I feel like I'm the little girl in the picture who is embarking on the next long and wonderful journey in my life. Thanks for joining me in this journey that I’ve begun and I wish you well in yours. Leave a comment and I hope you will join me here every Friday for another blog post and on Facebook and Instagram.

  1. I would love hard copies of the 58 blogs. I'm a reader as well as needing the tactile experience. xo
