Everything sounds so romantic and flowery in French, doesn’t it? For those of us who are not fluent en français, the quote says ~ “Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the gardeners who make our souls blossom.” So beautiful and yet so simple to achieve. A kind word, a hug, a card, a phone call are all simple ways to make a soul blossom.Flower Power
Last Friday I was invited to attend a party guaranteed to make my soul blossom. My friend Missy hosted a “gathering of food, drink, and flowery laughter,” and the laughter began as soon as the first guest arrived and didn’t stop until almost midnight. We caught up with friends we hadn’t seen for a while and noshed on the sweet and savory treats we brought such as sausage cheese dip and chips, bacon maple stickies, chocolate brownies with peanut butter frosting, goat cheese with edible pansies, chocolate covered strawberries, meatballs, and mini sandwiches. After a fun flower quiz for prizes, we were sent to one of two stations. One of the stations was a make-n-take to create a tag using photos of beautiful flowers, washi tape, ribbon, and patterned paper; while the other station allowed us to create a stunning bouquet of fresh flowers in the vessel we had been instructed to bring. Ranunculus, hydrangeas, tulips, baby’s breath, and daisies were just a few of the flowers we could choose to use. Each one of us left with a beautiful bouquet and tag, and blossoming souls.
