 THAT’S JUST RUDE 

I saw a news report recently that stated that Americans are ruder now than ever before. If that’s true, it’s very sad, but truly I’m not surprised. I mean, look how easy it is to attack someone on social media. And it’s not just kids, even President Trump does it!

 NOT JUST A NUMBER 

But you know where there are polite people? At Chick-Fil-A! Yup, at Chick-Fil-A, where they “treat every person with honor, dignity, and respect…” You’ll never hear, “Order 15, order 15 ready for pick-up.” Instead, you’ll hear your own name called when your order is ready, because they ask you what your name is for that very reason. There’s something about using someone’s name that makes them feel special, like you have a small connection with them. Chick-Fil-A employees will even carry your tray if you need help, and they’ll come back to your table to check on you. Yeah, I know it sounds trivial, but don’t all those little things add up?

As the owner, Dan Cathy says, “Every life has a story, and often our customers and our employees, need a little grace and a little space when you deal with them because they are either experiencing a problem, just finished having a problem, or are about to have one.” Wow, isn’t that a true statement.

This is a postcard I sent to The Ink Pad in N.Y. which was entered into a contest celebrating their 20th anniversary. It didn't win, but oh well, I still like the postcard.

This is a spread in my journal. Not one of my favorites, but a lot of people liked it on Instagram.

On the other hand, this is one of my favorites. Over the top of the spread, I wrote my favorite poem, The Owl and The Pussycat, which I memorized many years ago. I wrote it in french because I thought that looked cool.
