A GRAY SWEATSHIRT FROM EMERALD ISLE

 People don't always need advice.
Sometimes all they really need is
a hand to hold, an ear to listen,
and a heart to understand them.

 Faded and Loved

One of my favorite things to wear is a gray sweatshirt from Emerald Isle, North Carolina that I bought in the 90s. It has been washed to the point where the faded picture and words are hard to read. Just last week, I tore off the cuffs which had morphed into strings; but it’s so soft and comfortable to wear, and I love it! I can’t imagine throwing it away, any more than Linus could throw away his blanket.

Relationships can be like that sweatshirt. Each month, I have lunch with some other retired friends with whom I worked for many years. We’ve known each other longer than I’ve had that sweatshirt. We’ve shared life - births, weddings, divorces, struggles and changes, grandchildren, illnesses, deaths - good times and bad. And as I sat at that table listening to them talking and laughing, I felt as comfortable as if I was wearing that sweatshirt. I love when that happens.

 THE ART

Note: I am a Design Team member for The Crafter's Workshop; however, even though I use and love their products, all opinions are solely my own. #ad #advertising #sponsor

Warm weather is on its way and so I made a card and envelope with some fancy flamingoes. Hop over to The Crafter's Workshop's blog here and see how I created it.

Soft and comfortable are always a recipe for happiness. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and will join me here every Friday for another blog post and on Facebook and Instagram.
